Raising Funds for Livestock Equipment!
AgWest is a huge supporter of the HCYLSA!
Thank You AgWest! In addition to awarding us a huge grant, that made the purchase of our livestock panels possible, they also brought a crew of 8 people to help us set up panels. And if that wasn't generous enough, they also brought us an additional donation of $5,200 and committed to helping us during the livestock auction!

Harney Electric Co-Op and CoBank Donations Impact HCYLSA Small Livestock Exhibitors
|
The Harney County Livestock Show and Auction (HCYLSA) extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Harney Electric Cooperative and CoBank’s Sharing Success program for their generous donation of $10,000. This support is crucial in helping the HCYLSA continue its mission and to provide housing and show equipment for poultry, rabbit, and cavy during the Harney County Youth Livestock Show and Auction at the Harney County Fair. Their generosity has a meaningful impact in our community and provides a shining example of how we can achieve great things together. #CoBankCares #SharingSuccess #FarmCredit

HCYLSA Awarded $2,500 from AgWest
Burns, OR (April 15, 2025) – The Harney County Youth Livestock Show and Auction is pleased to announce it has been awarded $2,500 through AgWest Farm Credit’s Rural Community Grant program to be used towards the "Pass the Pants" fundraiser to purchase livestock panels and equipment for use at the new Harney County Fairgrounds facility.
The funds granted to Harney County Youth Livestock Show and Auction will impact the local community by helping provide the necessary infrastructure to have a safe and efficient livestock show at the 2025 Harney County Fair while also continuing the legacy of Harney County working together to enhance opportunities for youth.
Amanda Tyler, Chair of the Harney County Youth Livestock and Auction Committee is very appreciative of AgWest’s support saying “Our goal is to ensure the fairgrounds are ready and safe for our youth and livestock for the 2025 Harney County Fair and this grant will help us obtain the necessary livestock handling and exhibition equipment that will ensure our youth have livestock show opportunities for many years to come.”
AgWest’s Rural Community Grants provide funds to non-profit organizations for projects that improve rural communities within Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. This includes efforts such as building or improving facilities; purchasing necessary equipment to facilitate a local program; and funding capital improvements which enhance a community’s infrastructure, viability and prosperity.
